If you work with abrasive wheels on handheld or fixed workshop machines, knowledge really is power. Without the correct knowledge and understanding, you could be placing yourself and your colleagues at risk of injury or even death. So, knowing what you’re doing is absolutely essential.
There are many types of abrasive wheel to suit a wide range of applications, so it’s important to know what to look out for, and how to use and handle them safely. This course explores abrasive wheels, looking at what they are, and some of the dangers you could face. It’s also full of tips and advice for the safe handling, mounting, and use of abrasive wheels, to help make sure you or your colleagues don’t end up in the wars.
Ah, Robot Wars! The hit TV show where contestants build robots using everyday objects and then make them fight to the death! When it comes to weapons, these things are vicious. For the robot connoisseur, top of the weapons tree is the abrasive wheel! Spinning at frightening speeds, it’s sure to get sparks flying, inflicting serious damage to anything in its path. Brutal! But what if you work with these tools every day? Abrasive wheels are incredibly useful but also very dangerous when used incorrectly.
Abrasive wheels might be useful, but learning about them probably doesn’t make you want to do a happy dance. So, to help transform this vital training into something more interesting and memorable, we used a familiar and fun theme: Robot Wars. By combining high-quality animation and loads of interactivity, we’ve created a course that’s fully immersive for the learner. Approved by IOSH, one of the world’s leading health and safety organisations, this course lets the learner take control with a variety of interactive menus to discover the learning. It also includes interactive knowledge checkers, and a final quiz, which gives the learner the opportunity to test out their knowledge in different scenarios. And all this helps new learning stick.
This course also has an assessment at the end which allows learners to test their understanding and helps businesses demonstrate a level of competence in the topic.
With a bank of questions learners will get randomised assessments which means if people do fail the assessment, they aren't faced with the same quiz again; after all you want to test learners knowledge and not their ability to remember the right button to press second time around.
Everyone has the right to learn and learner need can vary demanding on environment or disabilities. This course comes with transcripts so people have text options for an media, subtitles for all videos and is screen reader friendly with alternative text.
We take a number of steps to ensure visuals and navigation is easy for your people. For more information on the steps we take for accessibility check out how we make out courses.
