iAM Learning Accessibility Statement

Accessibility statement for iAM Learning: online eLearning content and downloadable resources.

Summary

iAM Learning’s eLearning course content created since December 2020 meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Older content and downloadable PDF resources meet aspects of Level AA. Full details are in the statement.

Measures to support accessibility

iAM Learning takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our eLearning content: -

  • Closed captions for all time-based media such as animation or audio
  • Text alternatives for any media or audio content
  • Alternative text for images
  • Tab ordering and keyboard control of content
  • Easily accessible and understandable interfaces
  • Text contrast levels to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AAA standards
  • Include accessibility checks throughout our internal processes
  • Internal education, skills, and knowledge on accessibility guidelines
Conformance statement

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standard defines requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. “Fully conforms” means that the content meets all the WCAG requirements at the specified Level without exceptions.

iAM Learning eLearning content created from December 2020 onwards conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and follows all measures outlined above.

Content prior to December 2020 mostly conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We will be conducting audits on all this content to make sure changes are made so it meets WCAG Level AA standards in 2022. The functionality missing from content Pre-December 2020 is correct tab ordering and alternative text for images. Although these courses can still be controlled and navigated through keyboard, we are aware the order might not be accurate. All other measures above are included in eLearning content Pre-December 2020.

Downloadable resources to support the online eLearning content are in PDF format. These meet aspects of Level AA however do not currently have tab ordering or alternative text. We are currently working on correcting this, so these also meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Compatibility with browser and assistive technology

iAM Learning creates it’s SCORM content using the Articulate 360 suite. Along with our measures the tool also has its own accessibility measures in place. You can find these on the Articulate 360 website.

iAM Learning also tests its content on at least two versions of current major browsers. We no longer test in Internet Explorer. Some aspects of the content may not display or function as expected in older and non-supported browsers such as Internet Explorer 9.
