Employers have a duty of care to take every reasonable precaution to ensure all employees and the public are protected from asbestos, and have measures in place to manage asbestos hazards effectively. Having asbestos awareness is vital in every job, as asbestos can be found in many places, some unexpected.
This refresher course is designed as a reminder for anyone who has already taken the main asbestos awareness course, and wants a reminder. It covers the main points from the full course, delivering key facts. From the history and legacy of asbestos, to how it affects people’s health, how it should be handled, and how to deal with an exposure or discovery of asbestos.
Asbestos is dangerous stuff! Dubbed the silent killer by Health and Safety professionals, it was widely used as a building material throughout the 20th Century and is still found in many buildings today. There’s no cure for asbestos-related diseases. If you breathe it in, it could be fatal, and it presents a threat to anybody that might come into contact with it. So being aware of its existence, and what to do in an asbestos emergency, is pretty vital.
Asbestos is deadly, and there are a lot of important, and potentially life saving facts you need to remember. So, to help learners keep their wits about them in this refresher course, we’ve turned it into a game. To complete the game, learners must move through 3 levels, answering questions about the asbestos facts that were covered in the main course. This helps jog learners’ memory and boost confidence about what they already know, as well as encouraging them to apply their knowledge in order to find the correct answer and beat the challenge.
