Bullying and harassment can be hard to define, hard to notice, and hard to tackle. This course provides guidance on what to do if you encounter bullying in the workplace – whether you’re the victim, a witness, an HR professional, or a manager. It’s important that everyone pulls in the same direction, because bullying behaviours at work threaten the health of an organization, as well as the health of its staff.
The line between a strong management style and bullying is sometimes a fine one. But it’s important to know where the line is drawn so that you don’t cross it, and so that you can intervene when someone else crosses it. The potential effects of workplace bullying and harassment can be negative not only for the victim, but also for team morale overall. This training pinpoints what constitutes bullying behaviour, lists the potential effects and offers guidance on how to address the problem.
Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect at work, and yet workplace bullying is surprisingly and disappointingly common. Even if an organisation has a policy in place to deal with the issue, incidents can often go undetected or overlooked. Sensitivity is key, and you can establish a code of conduct for your staff to follow by offering the right training – just like this course! It offers the perfect platform for building awareness about bullying behaviours and building a system for eradicating them.
As a general rule, we like to develop our training courses around a central theme. Luckily, sometimes the perfect theme is staring you in the face from the very beginning. That was the case with this course: the topic is bullying, and we choose to pay homage to the Karate Kid franchise. What better way to strike a chord? With so many familiar (and relevant) touch points – not to mention iconic characters – it was a huge amount of fun putting this course together.
Everyone has the right to learn and learner need can vary demanding on environment or disabilities. This course comes with transcripts so people have text options for an media, subtitles for all videos and is screen reader friendly with alternative text.
