Child Sexual Abuse
Sexual abuse can have a serious, long-term impact on survivors, affecting their psychological emotional and physical well-being. This course is school-specific content but may be appropriate for those responsible for safeguarding children or creating a safeguarding culture in their workplace. This responsibility includes being vigilant for child sexual abuse and taking steps to protect young people from abusers.
Learning outcomes:
- Recall CSA and its impact, to appropriately support students who experience it
- Identify the signs of CSA and risk factors, to be able to implement targeted support to affected students
- Recall how to respond to and prevent CSA, to help protect students

This course will help you understand CSA and its impact, and empower you to identify the signs and risk factors involved. It’s key to understanding safeguarding responsibilities in schools and potentially other workplaces. You’ll also learn how to respond to young people who are experiencing abuse, and what steps to take to prevent abuse from happening.
This course is designed as school-specific content, and suitable for anyone who works in an educational setting, since they have a responsibility to safeguard students from abuse. It may be of use to those who interact with children in other roles too.
