Domestic Abuse
This course is designed to be school-specific content. Domestic abuse can have a profound impact on children’s well-being, and as adults, we need to identify the signs so we can support children who have been impacted. Understanding what domestic abuse is is the first step, and a crucial part of safeguarding training.
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise what domestic abuse is, so you have a developed understanding of the challenges children and families experiencing it may encounter
- Identify the signs that a student might be living in a home where domestic abuse is occurring, so you know what to look out for
- Recognise how to support a child who has been exposed to domestic abuse, so you can take steps to safeguard them

If you work with children in any capacity, you’ll understand the need to safeguard them. This course explores what domestic abuse is, the impact it can have, and helps prepare you to support children who have been exposed to domestic abuse.
