Early Help
This useful course is designed to be school-specific. When you think about safeguarding, you might immediately focus on situations where a student has already experienced significant harm. But sometimes, you can help students and their caregivers to access support that aims to prevent harm from happening in the first place. But what does this look like? And how can you recognise which students need early help? This course will explain all about early help and the importance of an early help referral.

This course is school-specific. Safeguarding students isn’t easy. But recognising when a student might benefit from early help is a vital part of meeting your statutory safeguarding responsibilities. In this course, you’ll find out what early help is, and identify who may benefit from it to keep students safe from harm.
If you work in a school, this course is specifically for you. Everyone who works with students must understand the role early help plays in safeguarding outcomes for young people and their families. This includes headteachers, heads of year, teachers, teaching assistants and other support staff.
