KCSIE - Keeping Children Safe in Education
Key Statutory Guidance: Working Together to Safeguard Children
This course is designed to be school-specific content. No one agency or individual can easily gain a complete picture of a student’s experiences or the challenges they face. That’s why it’s so important to collaborate openly with everyone who shares the responsibility to safeguard the child and prioritise their welfare. This course will explain the importance of a child-centred approach to safeguarding.
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise the importance of taking a child-centred approach with a family focus, so you can contribute to the shared responsibility for safeguarding children
- Identify the expectations for multiagency working outlined in "Working together to safeguard children", so you can work effectively with external bodies and agencies

This course, designed to be school-specific content, will introduce you to the importance of taking a child-centred approach as laid out in the statutory guidance document "Working together to safeguard children". And it’ll help you figure out how to take part in multiagency working to successfully protect children from harm.
Despite being school-specific content, everyone working with students needs to understand how a multiagency approach to safeguarding helps make sure children are properly protected. If your role involves students in any capacity, you may find this useful.
