KCSIE - Keeping Children Safe in Education
Multi-Agency Working
Collaborating openly with other professionals, such as the local authority and social workers, allows you to share insight and information to take a child-centred approach to safeguarding. Learning about the different meetings you and your colleagues may collaborate at will help you contribute to a multi-agency approach to protecting students from harm. This course will help you recognise the importance of multi-agency working.
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise the importance of multi-agency working, so you can collaborate to safeguard students
- Identify the role of local policies, procedures, and referral pathways, so you understand how they work alongside your school’s safeguarding provision
- Recognise the purpose and structure of Multi-professional meetings, Team Around the Family meetings and Child protection conferences, so you can collaborate to prioritise student welfare

This safeguarding course is designed to be school-specific content. It will help you recognise the importance of multi-agency working. It’ll introduce you to the role of local policies, procedures, and referral pathways. And it’ll help you get to grips with the purpose and structure of different multi-agency meetings.
