KCSIE - Keeping Children Safe in Education

Signs of Safety

The Signs of Safety framework can help you gain insight into how a student feels about their experiences. You can then share what you learn with caregivers and other safeguarding professionals. This will help them understand the child’s worries, what helps them feel safe, and what they hope will change. This school-specific course shows you how to use the ‘Three Houses’ tool and how to use the SOS framework to assess your concerns.

Learning outcomes:
  • Recognise how to use the Three Houses tool to prioritise the child’s voice and experiences
  • Identify how to use the Signs of Safety framework to map and assess concerns about a child’s welfare
