ADHD Awareness
This ADHD awareness course is designed to be school-specific. To help create an inclusive and supportive educational environment, you need a good understanding of ADHD. It’s one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders, affecting approximately seven percent of young people. ADHD involves patterns of inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Students with ADHD face unique challenges and need extra support.
Learning outcomes:
- Define ADHD and explain its neurobiological basis, to effectively address the needs of students with ADHD
- Identify the common symptoms and subtypes of ADHD, and the challenges faced by individuals with ADHD in education, to aid accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment planning
- Describe evidence-based strategies for supporting individuals with ADHD in educational and workplace settings, to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for students with ADHD

This school-specific ADHD awareness course will explore what ADHD is, its symptoms and subtypes, and its neurological basis. You’ll also learn about the challenges that students with ADHD may face in education, and how you can use evidence-based strategies to support them.
ADHD symptoms may not be easily apparent. Although designed to be school-specific and useful for those who work with students, this course will also help if you want to know more about supporting young people with ADHD.
