Seizure Smart Epilepsy
Epilepsy affects around 1 in 100 people and can cause different types of seizures, some of which are not immediately obvious. Knowing how to recognise the signs and respond calmly can help protect the person’s safety and ensure they receive the right care. This course explains what epilepsy is, the different types of seizures, and the first aid steps to take during and after a seizure, giving you the confidence to respond appropriately.

- Describe what epilepsy is, so you can increase understanding of the condition
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of a seizure to provide appropriate support
- Identify the actions to take during and after a seizure to help protect the person’s safety
