We’re social creatures. Removing that aspect of our already complex lives might cause unpleasant effects such as depression, stress, dependency on alcohol, and other negative outcomes. Taking this course is your first step towards understanding, combatting, and coping with those effects, which will result in improved happiness and health.
It’s fine to be alone by choice, but no-one should feel lonely. This course will help learners identify the effects of isolation, including the conditions that isolation might cause. It’s also designed to help learners develop effective coping mechanisms.
Being a human is a tough gig. We’re complicated, thanks to those pesky emotions we have. For example, have you ever felt lonely, even when you’re in a crowd of people? Maybe at other times you’ve been on your own by choice yet been totally content. Being around people or being alone is usually up to us.
But what about when that choice is taken from you? Maybe you’re separated from others because the world has been gripped by a virus? Maybe work has taken you to some far-flung place? Either way, it’s going to have some major effects on your life. And when you can no longer choose to be social, it can be hard to cope. This course is here to help with that.
We’ve all felt isolated from time to time, and it isn’t pleasant. As such, we’ve filled this course with useful things that can help. We follow a character who is feeling lonely and who uses these tips to improve their mental health in the same way that we want our learners to.
This course has some top-quality animation, engaging characters, and even features a playable computer game to help you stave off those lonely hours. We won’t tell you which one, but it’s a classic that you’ll recognise. And if that isn’t enough, we’ve added a handy infographic of tips that learners can print off and refer to at their leisure.
Everyone has the right to learn and learner need can vary demanding on environment or disabilities. This course comes with transcripts so people have text options for an media, subtitles for all videos and is screen reader friendly with alternative text.
We take a number of steps to ensure visuals and navigation is easy for your people. For more information on the steps we take for accessibility check out how we make out courses.
