Crisis Prevention

Popular culture is littered with incidents of people suffering anxiety and it all ‘getting too much’. Think about your favourite soap operas, or even sitcoms and movies. The reason is that reaching a crisis point is surprisingly common, and so it’s a relatable storyline. Unfortunately, it doesn’t just happen on screen. And that’s why we decided to make this course.

If you’ve been suffering with mental illness for a while, you may have it under control. But, things change, and it’s possible to find yourself in a situation where you feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. This course is going to teach you how to prevent the likelihood of a crisis and what to do if a crisis does happen.

This course is part of our mental health collection. So, we knew we’d have to approach it sensitively. It was decided that we’d use one of those ‘popular culture’ characters to carry the story, someone from a hit show that our audience might recognise. We just wanted a nice anchor that learners could relate to, plus the arcade scene it took place in made for some great visuals.

But nice animation isn’t everything. We took the time to create a course with a bunch of engaging interactivity, which let learners go at their own pace. And then we provided a whole load of useful contacts if any learner requires further support. Finally, we supplied a workbook so it could be taken away and digested at the learner’s leisure.
