Many of us have times in our lives when we feel like we just can’t cope anymore. If you’ve been suffering with mental illness, then you’ll find this course helpful. You might feel that you’re at breaking point and don’t know where to turn or what options are available. Crises don’t just affect those with diagnosed conditions, however; they may stem from stressful life issues such as grief, abuse, addiction, or money problems that are spiraling out of your control. We’re here to help prevent a mental health crisis.
We can’t cure mental illnesses. We wouldn’t claim to. But what we can do is offer advice and support. In this course, we talk about exactly what we mean by a mental health crisis, as well as how to prevent one. You’ll also find out how to make a joint crisis plan and discover how best to get help when you’re having one.
Popular culture is littered with incidents of people suffering anxiety and it all ‘getting too much’. Think about your favourite soap operas, or even sitcoms and movies. The reason is that reaching a crisis point is surprisingly common, and so it’s a relatable storyline. Unfortunately, it doesn’t just happen on screen. And that’s why we decided to make this course.
If you’ve been suffering with mental illness for a while, you may have it under control. But, things change, and it’s possible to find yourself in a situation where you feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. This course is going to teach you how to prevent the likelihood of a crisis and what to do if a crisis does happen.
This course is part of our mental health collection. So, we knew we’d have to approach it sensitively. It was decided that we’d use one of those ‘popular culture’ characters to carry the story, someone from a hit show that our audience might recognise. We just wanted a nice anchor that learners could relate to, plus the arcade scene it took place in made for some great visuals.
But nice animation isn’t everything. We took the time to create a course with a bunch of engaging interactivity, which let learners go at their own pace. And then we provided a whole load of useful contacts if any learner requires further support. Finally, we supplied a workbook so it could be taken away and digested at the learner’s leisure.
Everyone has the right to learn and learner need can vary demanding on environment or disabilities. This course comes with transcripts so people have text options for an media, subtitles for all videos and is screen reader friendly with alternative text.
We take a number of steps to ensure visuals and navigation is easy for your people. For more information on the steps we take for accessibility check out how we make our courses.
