Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations (DSEAR)

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking dangerous substances are only present in workplaces where the jobs being carried out are dangerous, too. Substances that can lead to fires and explosions if not properly handled are present in most places of work. Luckily, Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations, or DSEAR, is in place, to help employers and employees understand how to keep everyone safe.

Learning outcomes:
  • Identify whether the DSEAR and ATEX apply to your workplace activities to keep you and others safe
  • Identify potential risks in your own workplace and ensure best practice is in place to mitigate them
  • Define your responsibilities as an employee and/or an employer when dealing with dangerous substances and/or explosive atmospheres
