Everyone deserves to work in a welcoming, supportive workplace, including people with disabilities. But disabled people often experience barriers that prevent them from participating fully at work. Luckily, it doesn’t need to be that way. This course will help you define disability and how you and your workplace can make sure everyone is treated fairly at work.
Disabled people’s experiences of their conditions vary greatly. You may not even be aware that some of your colleagues are disabled. But discrimination is never acceptable. And we all have a role to play in overcoming it. That’s why everyone can benefit from understanding more about disability in the workplace. This course will bring you up to speed, so you can work towards creating a more inclusive workplace.
● Define disability and the importance of clear accessibility policies and practices in the workplace to maintain a dignified working environment
● Explain common ways disability can impact a person in the workplace and how these can be prevented or removed to create a more inclusive working environment
