Whatever your role, you’ll find that developing your emotional intelligence is a key life skill. We could all benefit from refining our EI, because it’s something we use every day. Better EI will help you control your emotions appropriately, which in turn will enhance your career and personal life, and help make you a more well-rounded person. Being emotionally intelligent will help to open doors and defuse potentially difficult situations, such as times where cooler heads need to prevail.
Throughout this course, you’ll discover some great ways to make the most of your intelligence. We’ll explain what emotional intelligence really is, help you understand the benefits of becoming more emotionally intelligent, and describe how you can use emotional intelligence to become an effective leader to your team.
Shed a tear at the beginning of Up? Totally normal, it’s harrowing. But if you’re still bawling by the time the house is floating across South America, it’s fair to say you might not be in complete control of your emotions.
That’s okay. It happens. But it can put you at a disadvantage when it comes to your working life. Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage your emotions in positive ways which lead to, well, positive effects. Like more effective communication, for example. Or the ability to empathise, defuse conflicts, overcome challenges and relieve stress. That’s where this course will help. We’re going to take a look at exactly how you can use your EI to take control of your emotions.
We’ve all been put in positions where we’ve got angry without just cause. We just get caught up in the heat of the moment and act without thinking. For many people it’s things like sporting events, so we chose to theme this course around those little moments that we all know so well. This makes the course relatable, and helps the learning sink in.
Inside the course, you’ll find our trademark smooth animation, delivering key learning with a conversational style. There are also interactive elements, including a click and tell exercise in a section that describes how using emotional intelligence can make you a more effective leader. This interaction puts you in control, letting you learn at your own pace and helps reinforce the learning. In the blended learning section, you’ll find a set of takeaway tasks to help you reflect, as well as challenging you to actively improve yourself.
Everyone has the right to learn and learner need can vary demanding on environment or disabilities. This course comes with transcripts so people have text options for an media, subtitles for all videos and is screen reader friendly with alternative text.
