Fire Warden Awareness

Fire Warden Awareness

This course is perfect for those who have been designated a fire warden, or fire marshall, in the workplace. Being a fire warden isn’t quite as thrilling as being a firefighter. But doing this job does make you a hero, too. You’ll be responsible for the lives of your colleagues, both when that alarm sounds, and while going about your everyday duties. As a fire warden, you’re being recognised as a person who can be trusted with the lives of others. Take this course and find out how.

What you will learn

A fire warden needs to keep people safe while they work. This course helps to explain the myriad roles and responsibilities that a fire warden has, but also offers advice on identifying different types of fire hazard and describes the effects and consequences of fire and smoke. Basically, it’s a great way to keep you and your colleagues protected from the risk of fire.

Fire Warden Awareness

About this course

Fire is both useful and necessary. But of course, it’s also dangerous. So, we need to train people to control it, y’know, to help keep everyone safe. Okay, so maybe you didn’t want to be a firefighter growing up. It takes a special type of hero to put on that uniform. But you can still play your part in fire safety, wherever you work.

A fire warden is someone that helps mitigate risk around the workplace. This course is an overview of what their duties involve, including understanding roles, firefighting equipment, managing hazards to prevent and control hazards, and understanding key legislation. You’ll also learn about the fire triangle and the effects of smoke.

Engaging the learner

Fire safety is a hot topic. It’s got to be, because wherever you work, you’re likely at risk. With that in mind, when we designed this course, we thought that the best approach was to use a relatable character, someone that anyone could identify with. A regular Joe, who’s been tasked with these additional duties. As we walk through them using high-quality animation, we’ve used case studies and mnemonics as an aid to knowledge retention.

Peace of mind with testing

Peace of mind with testing

To become an IOSH approved course, we needed to prove that the learning was in place. So, we added interactivity, to let learners take it all in at their own pace, and of course a quiz bank with rotating questions so that to pass, a learner really must know the answers. To cap it off, we added a workbook, and a checklist which include the common roles of a fire warden, so that learners have something to take away and use after the course is passed.
