Introduction To Safe Systems Of Work

Confession time. We’ve all laughed at ‘caught on camera’ accident videos, right? While it might feel like a guilty pleasure, it isn’t so bad, because we know that no-one got hurt. But for every mishap where no-one got hurt, there are occasions where people do. And none more so than in the workplace. Whatever line of work you’re in, employees need to have the ability, training, and resources to carry out their tasks safely. And all employers have the legal duty to facilitate this. For business owners and managers, this course will give you a better understanding of safeguarding workers efficiently, so you don’t end up in breach of health and safety regulations.

What you will learn

Taking this course will help you develop the knowledge and understanding you need to be able to assess tasks and implement a safe system of work. You’ll also learn about permits to work, and how to monitor safe systems of work to make sure they stay safe, and are being followed correctly.

About this course

You’ve Been Framed has taught us that hazards are everywhere. From tangled wires, and broken plug sockets, to a slippery dance floor at a wedding reception, potential dangers are lurking around every corner. Usually, the hazard is the star of a hilarious video but, when it comes to business, a hazard must be dealt with carefully.

In the workplace it’s imperative to spot and remove hazards so nobody can injure themselves. But when they cannot be removed, and an element of risk remains, safe systems of work come into their own.

Engaging the learner

Comedy is a great tool for helping you remember things. So, we decided to use this familiar theme to help deliver the course in a light-hearted and engaging way, to make the learning stick. And, by using interactive knowledge checkers and menus, we’ve made sure that the learner can take the course at a pace that suits them, revisit areas as often as the like, and test what they’ve learned throughout the course, to help them retain knowledge for longer. This course has been approved by IOSH, one of the world’s biggest health and safety organisations.

Peace of mind with testing

This course also has an assessment at the end which allows learners to test their understanding and helps businesses demonstrate a level of competence in the topic.

With a bank of questions learners will get randomised assessments which means if people do fail the assessment, they aren't faced with the same quiz again; after all you want to test learners knowledge and not their ability to remember the right button to press second time around.
