What does the word ‘slavery’ mean to you? You might think it’s something that happened in the past, but it’s not. Modern slavery is a heinous and often hidden crime, and it remains very much in the present. And it isn’t just a problem in one part of the world or one specific industry. It’s happening everywhere, in every field. Increased awareness and reporting will help law enforcement tackle perpetrators and protect victims. So, whatever you do, and wherever you work, you should take this course and help make modern slavery ancient history.
After taking this course, you’ll be able to identify what modern slavery is, who it affects, and the warning signs to look out for, so that you can help make slavery a thing of the past. You’ll also learn about the negative and positive roles that technology plays in modern slavery, and how to report modern slavery concerns, so victims can get the help they need. For business leaders, you’ll discover your legal duties under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, as well as practical advice for carrying those duties out.
Modern slavery is the grievous exploitation of people for personal or commercial gain. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and bonded labour, forced marriage, sex trafficking, and human trafficking. The impacts can be devastating for the victims, and many of these crimes go undetected. This course examines the phenomenon of modern slavery, who it affects, and how you can help. For businesses, it will also look at the relevant legislation to help you stay compliant.
Modern slavery devastates countless victims’ lives, and it’s a difficult subject, that doesn’t really get talked about as much as it should. This course uses powerful animation to discuss the facts about modern slavery in a memorable way that’s easy to understand, sensitive, and thought provoking. While a lot of our courses carry familiar themes to help with storytelling, this one simply features the real world, to highlight the stark reality of slavery in our lifetime.
Approved by IOSH, the world’s largest health and safety organisation, our modern slavery course also features user-controlled splash screens which allow the learner to move at their own pace. And it includes interactive, scenario-based knowledge checkers and quiz questions in a variety of formats that help learners really think about, and apply, their new knowledge. So, if they are faced with a modern slavery situation, they’ll know what to do.
This course also has an assessment at the end which allows learners to test their understanding and helps businesses demonstrate a level of competence in the topic.
With a bank of questions learners will get randomised assessments which means if people do fail the assessment, they aren't faced with the same quiz again; after all you want to test learners knowledge and not their ability to remember the right button to press second time around.
Everyone has the right to learn and learner need can vary demanding on environment or disabilities. This course comes with transcripts so people have text options for an media, subtitles for all videos and is screen reader friendly with alternative text.
