When basic needs, such as nutrition and access to appropriate medical care aren’t met, it’s known as neglect. Children and vulnerable adults are the most likely to experience neglect and sadly, it’s very common. We all have a responsibility to look out for the most vulnerable people in society. This course can help those with close personal or professional contact with children or vulnerable adults to spot the signs and understand the impact of neglect, to help safeguard them against harm.
This course will help those working with or supporting children and vulnerable adults to explain the different types of neglect and how they impact those who experience them. It will help you to identify the risk factors that can compound neglect. And it will help you to recognise some of the key warning signs of neglect, so you know when to act.
Everyone deserves care, support and protection from danger, but sometimes things go wrong. Neglect is the failure to meet a child or vulnerable adult’s basic needs, and it’s a serious problem. Neglect often goes unnoticed but is actually very common. Vulnerable people can also neglect themselves and make decisions that aren’t in their best interests. It’s really important to recognise the risks and warning signs of neglect and help to protect people from harm.
We all have a responsibility to look out for the most vulnerable people in society. Those with a duty of care towards children or vulnerable adults need to be especially aware of what to look out for, to keep them safe.
Nobody likes to think of others suffering. And focussing on the details of how children and vulnerable adults can suffer neglect can be very upsetting. We knew it was vital to find a way to deliver the necessary information, without adding to the burden that those with a duty of care already shoulder. So, we created a course that uses a simplistic but engaging animation style to sensitively deliver the necessary information about neglect, based on research from credible sources and the involvement of subject matter experts.
Approved by the world’s biggest H & S organisation, this course combines stunning, black and white animation with interactive learning. A series of interactive knowledge checks are designed to challenge the learner to put the learning to use, by asking them to consider the types of neglect evident in various mock case studies. There’s also a quiz bank of rotating questions also designed to help learners consolidate their learning, so you can feel confident that learners have really got to grips with this challenging subject.
This course also has an assessment at the end which allows learners to test their understanding and helps businesses demonstrate a level of competence in the topic.
With a bank of questions learners will get randomised assessments which means if people do fail the assessment, they aren't faced with the same quiz again; after all you want to test learners knowledge and not their ability to remember the right button to press second time around.
Everyone has the right to learn and learner need can vary demanding on environment or disabilities. This course comes with transcripts so people have text options for an media, subtitles for all videos and is screen reader friendly with alternative text.
We take a number of steps to ensure visuals and navigation is easy for your people. For more information on the steps we take for accessibility check out how we make our courses.
You’ll have your own questions and challenges in your business, so we’d love to show you more and answer any questions. We’re excited to show you specific courses you’re interested in, or run you through more of our off the shelf eLearning courses.
