Subject Access Requests

Under the UK GDPR, you have a right of access to your data. This means you have the right to know what personal data companies hold about you. You also have the right to access, amend and even delete that data by using a Subject Access Request, or a SAR. SARs can help you understand how companies obtained your data, why they hold it and what they’re using it for. This course explains how you can make a SAR.

Who should take this course?

A SAR isn’t just for finding out why you’re receiving junk mail. You can use it for obtaining bank statements, pay slips from old employers, CCTV footage, and much more of your personal data. As an individual, you can exercise your right of access, and this course helps you do just that. As someone that works for an organisation, you may need to know how to respond to a SAR, and this course covers that, too. Pretty neat, right?
