To be awesome at selling, you need to be able to connect with your customers or clients. But it isn’t easy to build relationships with people straightaway. Maybe you get nervous, or you can’t get last month’s sales figures out of your head. If you need to find a way to connect with customers quickly, you can do that by using rapport.

Building rapport is a skill that anyone can learn. It might take some practice, but anyone can learn to build an emotional connection with others. This is important in sales because customers tend to prefer to buy things from people they like and trust. On this course, you’ll learn how to use some rapport-building behaviours to help you hone your sales technique.

Engaging the learner

The best salespeople can make building rapport seem like a talent that only the most gifted people have. But anyone can be taught to build rapport by using the right techniques. We wanted to keep this course down to earth and relatable by following a new mobile phone salesperson as they’re guided in their rapport-building skills by a more experienced colleague.

On this course, which features wonderful animation and intuitive interaction design, the learner will be able to choose their own specialised pathway for rapport-building, depending on whether they have a customer-facing role or a call-centre role. Whichever path they choose, they’ll be tested on their new knowledge through common sales scenarios. This will help them practise their new knowledge and embed their learning.
